Barium Sulfate

This is a naturally occuring inorganic salt that can also be synthetically derived. In cosmetics, the synthetic form is used instead of sulfuric acid, which can irritate the skin. The ingredient increases opacity in products but can also extend the lifespan of pigments in lipsticks and blush.
