Also referred to as glyceryl triacetate and generally known as triacetin. Glycerol triacetate is an FDA-approved food additive. It is also used in cosmetics and perfume products. In pharmaceuticals, glycerol triacetate is commonly used as a plasticizer like in the cancer drug paclitaxel (PTX).
