Volatile Oil

rating: Bad

This refers to a group of volatile fluids, mostly plant-derived, which are used in cosmetics to add a fragrance. Volatile oils can include linalool, borneol, ketones, terpenes, camphor, ethers, and more. They have an antioxidant content which can be beneficial to the skin, but the risk of sensitisation outweighs the benefits.
