Ben & Jerry’s is an American ice cream, frozen yoghurt, and sorbet manufacturer. The brand was founded by two friends, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, in Vermont in 1978 and is now owned by Unilever. The brand is largely credited for transforming ice cream in America, creating exciting premium flavours that were differentiated by using more natural ingredients, having less air churned in (making for denser texture), and containing more butterfat. Ben & Jerry’s are known for their rich and original ice cream flavours like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Coffee Caramel Fudge, with different flavours available in non-dairy options, tubs, pint slices, and mini cups. While Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is decadent, the brand is commited to using natural ingredients and sourcing Fairtrade certified sugar, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and bananas where possible.
